Extruded
Aluminum Framing System
The t-slot anodized
extruded aluminum framing system provides durable performance and maximum flexibility.
Slots are provided for attaching various accessories and tie downs. Items can
be easily repositioned. Plastic end caps are used to protect the user.
The platform is constructed
of high density polyethylene plastic which slides intio the t-slots of the extruded
frame. Rubber-backed carpet is riveted to the plastic to provide a comfortable
non-slip surface.
The cargo platform is retained
by a hinged rear member of the extruded frame and locked in position by a quick
pin.
Anodized machined brackets from aircraft quality 6061-T6 aluminum alloy and marine grade stainless fasteners make for a high-quality system that will give years of service. Patent pending mounting clamp design conforms to most kayak decks. A large aluminum plate goes on the inside of the deck to provide a secure mounting.
Thanks to some constructive feedback from Chris Cunningham at Sea-Kayaker magazine, the mounting system has been improved to make installation and removal of the platform from the kayak simple and fast. No tools are required. The kayRak can be installed or removed from your kayak in less than 2 minutes! Plastic threaded knobs protect the ends of the carriage bolt threads inside the kayak from damaging any expensive kayaking gear such as drybags etc.
When
not in use, the 4 holes in the deck are covered and sealed with 4 stainless
steel button head screws(supplied) providing a nice finishing touch.
Fiberglass
or Rotomoulded Polyethylene Pontoon
Only the best quality materials are used. Choose between a hand-laid fiberglass
hull or roto-moulded cross-link polyethylene. Match the appearance and quality
of your kayRak with your kayak for a factory quality look.

Stainless steel quick pins
retain outrigger pontoon to anodized aluminum poles. The result is a secure
connection that is quick and easy to assemble.
